Making Theatre narrates experiences pooled from over 3 decades of production practice creating theatre in the region of Mindanao. The focus is on facilitating productions in what the author describes as “inadequate conditions such as ours and treats production as art, science, and business.”

“In our theatre-making case, infrastructure is absent and audience is apathetic. The book focuses on making use of available resources including physical spaces, artists, organizers, and technology.” This how-to book for individuals and groups interested in stage production shares information on basic directing, production techniques; includes sections on various aspects of theatre production and how to “appropriately transcreate indigenous materials for theatre.”

Author Fernandez conducts Stagecraft classes at the MSU-IIT in Iligan and will be using his publication as textbook.
