MGA PILING DULANG MINDANAO features plays written by Melchor M. Morante, Steve C. Fernandez, Felimon B. Blanco, Marili Fernandez-Ilagan, Theresa Opaon, Malou Tiangco, Geejay Arriola, Romeo F. Narvaez, Frank G. Rivera, and Arthur P. Casanova. The plays, originally written in Cebuano and performed by Mindanao artists, were translated into Filipino by the editor of the book.

Casanova is the author of Kasaysayan at Pag-unlad ng Dulaaang Pambata sa Pilipinas, which won the Manila Critics Circle 2006 National Book Award.
