excerpt
A LILY IN THE SEA
By W.D. Nolledo

"Look, for I am the sun.."

* * * * *

"Now I am the sea."

* * * * *

"And when in frightened sleep the terror of waiting opens the nervous door (Enter, alley of my heart) to admit birds of prey, mute complainants of life, and I scrape from their dark desperate dreams the thunder of their longing.

It is thunder, she said.

No, it is I, he said.

"As he cried in her bosom, she made a beautiful descent into his arms. In her mind, the formless music ran over and over again which made her very much afraid, and receding in his embrace, was frantic and now chased the sun."
