CLEMATIS
By Aileen Ibardaloza

I walked back two places east

to an alternate present

forcing merged worlds

on the other side of sanity

Allowed diebacks

for warmth

The only untruth among

wraiths of petiole-twined lattices

Truth the only substance

in eyes

that must have loved me

You must know I am here

I cannot run anymore

Hold up the shears

Prune Or choose me

I was never Kate

Kiss me anyway
